Ondi Timoner and actress Eliza Dushku are planning to co-produce a narrative film about the life of Robert Mapplethorpe. The project, which will be directed by Ondi, has the full cooperation of the Mapplethorpe estate. Read about the project in a recent article in Variety.

“We Live in Public” has won for the Documentary Competition top honor, the jury selected Ondi Timoner’s We Live in Public from the 16 films in the U.S. Documentary category. This is Ondi’s second Grand Jury Prize (she won in 2004 for Dig!). “Sundance is home to me,” Timoner said as she accepted her award. “It’s such a nurturing environment.”
BMI has announced that Ondi will appear at the “Music & Film” The Creative Process” panel on Wednesday, January 21. The panel will take place at the Sundance House at the Kimball Art Center (638 Park Avenue) from 11:00am – 1:00pm. Directors scheduled to speak include Michel Orion Scott (Over The Hills and Far Away), Duncan Jones (Moon), Max Mayer (Adam), R.J. Cutler (The September Issue), Dana Heinz Perry (Boy Interrupted), Dana Heinz Perry (Boy Interrupted), Ondi Timoner (We Live In Public) and Tze Chun (Children of Invention). The discussion will be moderated by Doreen Ringer Ross, Vice President, Film/TV Relations at BMI.
