Vancouver International Film Festival
Masterfully incorporating a decade’s worth of footage, Timoner assembles a constantly riveting and often harrowing portrait of the one-time “Warhol of the Web”… Timoner’s investigation into Harris’ past exploits couldn’t be more timely.”

WE LIVE IN PUBLIC also plays at the Empire Granville 7 on Oct. 9th at 1:20pm and Oct. 14th at 9:30pm.

Screening at Burning Man TONIGHT – WLIP Plays at the Giant Pig Jail?

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

We are showing the film tonight (or tomorrow morning, depending on how you look at it) at 2:30AM, certainly setting an official record for Weirdest Screening Time Ever at Interloper Films. Because the details via our Burning Man liason are in festival-speak, I’m just going to quote this one…. “we’ll be showing it right on the playa from an art car outside the 3:00 plaza”  Evidently there is a bar on hand and “the art car is either Scotty Soltronic’s famous Solar Saucer (Discovery Channel, etc, famous eco-power device) or a giant pig with a jail as its belly.”   Check at the Social Media Booth in 3:00 Plaza for the most up-to-date info, but let me boil it down for ya.

Time: 2:30 in the morning on Friday
Place: By the Solar Saucer or the Giant Jail Pig in the 3:00 plaza

Can somebody take some pictures of this for me? Thanks.

New Zealand wrap-up

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

New Zealanders packed all three screenings of WE LIVE IN PUBLIC in Auckland and Wellington.  One Kiwi blogger who writes for The Dominion Post (Wellington’s major daily paper) couldn’t get the film out of his head, writing “I squirmed in my seat” and that he was “blown away by the film.”

While in the neighborhood, Ondi rocked the radio airwaves.

Kiwi FM:
And Radio Wammo declared WE LIVE IN PUBLIC an Editor’s Pick and gave us a little blog feature:

Ondi also stopped into the studios of TV3 New Zealand for an on-air lovefest!

“The doco about one of the first dot com kids took a decade to shoot and was cut from a mind-boggling 5,000 hours of footage. To top it all off We Live In Public took home the grand jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival, making director Ondi Timoner the only person to win the coveted award twice.”
